Which is your Universal Orlando entrance?

Universal Orlando Resort now has four fully operating theme parks—Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, Volcano Bay, and the newly opened Epic Universe, plus the entertainment and dining district, CityWalk. Each area has its dedicated entrances, and knowing where to start can save you time, reduce walking, and help you hit top attractions faster.

This guide breaks down all the public entrances, how to spot them, and which one suits your visit best.

How many entrances are there?

While there are multiple entrances (one per theme park), most visitors arrive through the main central entrance plaza, which connects Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and CityWalk via security checkpoints. Volcano Bay has a separate entrance near the parking structure, accessible by shuttle from the main transportation hub; Epic Universe is located a few minutes away by shuttle or rideshare and has its dedicated entry plaza.

Find your entrance

• For park hopping between Studios & Islands: Use the central entrance plaza — both gates are just a short walk apart, so you can move quickly between rides.
  
• For Islands of Adventure: Enter via the Port of Entry, a themed gateway that immerses you instantly in the park’s adventure vibe and gives direct access to key areas like Marvel Super Hero Island.
  
• For a waterpark-focused day: Head straight to Volcano Bay’s dedicated entrance via the resort shuttle; this saves you the long walk from CityWalk.
  
• For Epic Universe: Use the new dedicated entrance plaza. It’s the only access point and is designed for quick entry to the park.
  
• For dining, shopping, or nightlife: Start at CityWalk’s main entrance, which puts you right in the middle of restaurants, shows, and stores before or after park time.

For staying guests at select resorts: Use the hotel guest-only entry points (such as from Loews Royal Pacific) for quicker morning access to Studios or Islands.

Accessibility entrance

Universal Orlando Resort designs all major public entrance points—including those at Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure via Port of Entry, Volcano Bay, and Epic Universe—to be fully accessible for guests using wheelchairs and mobility devices. Each entrance features level pathways, wide turnstiles, and streamlined security checkpoints, making entry smooth and manageable.

Guests requiring additional assistance can register for Universal’s Accessibility Assistance Pass (AAP) via the IBCCES Accessibility Card (IAC) platform. Once confirmed, guests are contacted to arrange accommodations, such as virtual queues or return-to-queue options, without needing to stand in line.

All park-wide attraction queues meet or exceed ADA standards, including ramps, accessible hardscaping, and courtesy manual wheelchairs available upon request.

Navigation between entrances

• Guests entering Universal Studios Florida or Islands of Adventure pass through the shared CityWalk security hub, from where it’s a short walk to either park gate.
  
• Volcano Bay is accessed by a separate entrance via shuttle, which is fully accessible, with ramps for wheelchairs and ECVs; it is not on foot from CityWalk.
