  • April and May is breeding season for cold-blooded alligators and offer a fantastic opportunity to watch how male gators attract their mates. These months also have mild, agreeable weather which can be best enjoyed in Gatorland’s outdoor setting. 
  • The hottest months of the year, July and August, are also the least appealing time to visit, due to scorching heat and humidity. These months also fall during hurricane season. Lastly, the 4th of July weekend ends up being one of the most crowded times in Gatorland as it attracts an extraordinary number of tourists.

  • Weekdays are less crowded as compared to weekends as most tourists prefer to plan their trip on weekends. Moreover, public holidays are huge crowd-pullers, so it is best to avoid Gatorland during this time.  
  • Weekends are still a good option if you don’t mind the crowds too much as the most popular shows and events take place during this time to entertain the maximum number of visitors.   
  • On weekdays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays have comparatively less visitor footfall, resulting in shorter queues and less waiting time. 
  • If you want to make the most out of your visit, arrive early closer to the opening hours. This way, you can finish your trip before the evening crowds start rolling in. Plus, the pleasant weather is an added bonus.  

How long should I spend at Gatorland?

The expansive theme park of Gatorland stretches for 110 acres and is chock-full (or rather croc-full) of amazing attractions, activities, and adventures. Give yourself around 4 to 5 hours to fully explore all that this park has to offer.     

Watching animal shows like Legends of the Swamp, Gator Jumparoo, etc. should encompass no more than 60 minutes. These are must-see shows at Gatorland, thus do not miss them at all. Spend around an hour or so visiting the petting farm and encountering animals like tortoises, capybaras, snakes, etc. The park also features an aviary where you can go look for different bird species including parrots like macaws and cockatoos. Do not miss out on seeing the Flamingo Island and get lost in time watching flamingos do their own thing. If you want to try out adventure rides like the New Croc Rock Adventure and Screamin’ Gator Zipline, take out at least 2 hours from your visit depending on the number of rides you want to experience.
